Product Info

An iron-bearing, plastic midfire clay body made from 100% New Zealand clays. It offers excellent throwing and handbuilding properties, ideal for both small and large-scale work. Useful for all domestic ware.

Please use cones to verify your firings. Don't rely on kiln controllers only.

Note: Due to the more vitreous nature of MB2, firing above cone 8 may result in warping or bloating. We recommend testing for your specific application.

- Glaze up to cone 8

- Dry shrinkage 5-6%

- Cone 5 - Total shrinkage 12-13 %, Absorption 1.5-2.5%

- Cone 6 – Total shrinkage 12-13%, Absorption 1-1.5%

- Cone 7 – Total shrinkage 12.5-13%, Absorption 0.5-1%

- Cone 8 – Total shrinkage 12.5-13%, Absorption 0.3-0.5%
