Formula Update - 2026

Due to changes in one of the raw materials used in this body, we made a small formulation adjustment in early 2026 to maintain consistency and performance. As part of this update, we also replaced a high-lignite ball clay with a cleaner alternative.

Easy throwing, iron rich midfire clay. Fires dark toast in oxidation. Useful for all domestic ware and hand-building.

Please use cones to verify your firings. Don't rely on kiln controllers only.

- 50 mesh

- Glaze up to cone 8

- Drying shrinkage 6%

- Cone 5 - Shrinkage 12.5%, Absorption ~2%

- Cone 6 - Shrinkage 13%, Absorption ~1.5%

- Cone 7 - Shrinkage 13%, Absorption ~1%

- Cone 8 - Shrinkage 13%, Absorption ~0.5%
